Last year's Kidzzplein - despite the occasional pouring rain - was a great success. That's why it's part of Jazz in Duketown again this year. Jazz in Duketown runs entirely on and with volunteers! Unique. Some just this year for the first time, some for many years. Our Else van der Zijden recorded their stories. Pieter van den Bosch has been a volunteer at Jazz in Duketown for 16 years. Friends of his asked if he wanted to come and help and now he is the only one left standing! Pieter helps building up the festival and puts out fires when necessary. He really likes the decoration, it's like a transformation of the city. The

The new president of Jazz in Duketown has been announced!
The Supervisory Board of Jazz in Duketown appoints Sóphie van Oirschot-Rijnaarts as the new president of the festival. She succeeds Stef Thijssen. For the past three years Stef Thijssen, as chairman, has ensured with his business strength and strong approach that Jazz in Duketown is organizationally like a house. The Supervisory Board and the board are very grateful for his efforts and happy that he will continue to share his knowledge and experience within the festival in the years to come.
